The History of the Knockerdown Inn Reflections of Yesteryear The Nock-a-down as it was affectionately known, opened as a beer house in 1838. Its official name was the Greyhound, this dog being the family crest of the Gell family, who owned the property. In 1848 the Inn was granted a full license and has traded ever since. Green Peaks Festival is a three day camping event which will be held here on the weekend of 2nd September 2011, the organisers share a vision to encourage sustainability in the local area, acheived by providing fun and affordable green entertainment and services. Nature is the key to this festival.
