The Tissington Trail is a scenic route running from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay. The trail is 13 miles long and follows the old railway.
There are various points along the trail where you can join it and there are shorter routes available at these points. Surrounded by beautiful countryside the traffic-free trail is ideal for horse riders, cyclists, naturalists and walkers. It is suitable for wheel chairs and pushchairs along the flat sections.
You can hire cycles for around £11 per day at the cycle hire shop at the start in Ashbourne.
During all seasons of the year you will be able to admire the many stunning views, and once you have worked up an appetite you can call at The Knockerdown Inn for a hearty meal.
